The Royal Tutor – The Prince Interviews

Review

As thought, we spent time with the other three princes this episode. It was better than it was setup from the first episode; not quite so long with each one. It was interesting to see the stereotypes that each prince adheres to then how they differ from what Heine had discovered in his research.

He wins over Bruno in what was the most comedic series of events in this series so far. It was clever in the way that it showed you what Bruno was requiring while also showing he didn’t want to actually be beaten by anyone. In the end he cedes to the wisdom of his tutor and becomes invigorated with learning as much as possible.

Licht was one of the more interesting storytelling elements this series. He’s not as carefree as he lets on and has a sharp eye, Heine registers him as being the most dangerous and “pulling the rug out from under him”. After last week it was already a bit suspect that Heine had an ulterior motive for teaching the teachers and this showed that even more.

Kai was cute, he made me smile. There’s not too much to say about his introduction other than we were also greeted with Princess Adele and the dog, Shadow. It was a cute sequence and it did tell you more about him, just like all the other princes, there just wasn’t too much of note.

To be fair, this episode was about what was expected from last week’s. Nothing major changed as we were introduced to the remaining cast members in more detail. I’d expect next week to up the ante a little when the princes have their first lesson.
