Chaos;Child – Sumo Stickers Galore

Review

This episode went from strength to strength. It focused on the origin of the Sumo Stickers that have been appearing around town, specifically in the locations of the murders. A lot of them have appeared in one place and Takuru has identified that they’re all identical to the ones from the other crime scenes. Whereas some of them are slightly different – indicating copycats – there are a few the same and he can’t be sure that this means the location with the stickers all over the walls means anything significant. They decide to put a video camera up to record anything that might happen; just in case.

Deciding to talk to Hinae a bit more (though I’m not sure he’s told anyone about what she said about his death) he and Onoe follow her to a meeting she has with a detective. However, it’s a detective that’s working apart from the police and everything just seems that little bit odder. In a good way though, it seems to suggest there is a bigger picture that had some better idea of how this is linking in with the previous murders. They find a blog where the author claims to be in the hospital and I can see them going there soon to talk to them – whether it’ll be good or bad I have no idea.

Then the finale.

My word, it was a good finale. I’m half wondering if the person who sent Nono the email was directly involved in what happened and I wonder what Takuru will do when he finds out what happened. It’s an episode that I can’t fault; any mysteries are what you’d expect from this sort of show and as they entangle you with one thread, another pulls slightly looser. I’m looking forward to seeing exactly what the mystery behind Hinae is as well as the murders, it’s nice to have more than one thing to focus on.
